    This document provides instructions for building a simple mechanical linkage using arbitrary lengths for the arms and 1/2" x 1/2" bar stock. All holes are drilled at 1/4" and pins are slightly oversized at 1/4" for press fitting into the arms.     The lengths of the arms are arbitrary.

    Pretty much anything


    will work. Also, the 1/2" x 1/2" bar stock is just what I had on
    hand. You could use anything you want.
    All of the holes are drilled 1/4". A 1/4" bolt at the pivot,
    and the pins are barely 1/4" oversized to press into the arms.
    None of the holes were reamed.

    The pins could be longer, but shorter would cause interference.


    The pin diameter doesn't really matter, but I made them as thick
    as I could without there being interference. Any thinner, and you'll
    likely bend them (I bent a pair and had to remake them). Don't be
    worried about any of these dimensions, nothing has to be real
    precise.
