My Experience at Munirka

Munirka is a small village near IIT Delhi. As a part of my course, I had to

complete 100 hours of social work (NSS).I decided I, along with a few other
volunteers would go to Munirka to teach underprivileged kids, two days a week.
My initial experience at Munirka was not so good. I was going there just for the
sake of it. The living conditions there were(and still are) terrible. Every time on
reaching there, we first went to the houses of children to bring them to the
playground to teach them. There are a whole lot of pigs there and certain parts
of the place really stink. Somehow, we brought the children in the ground. In the
playground, when I started teaching the kids, I realized that the level of these
children was not good at all. Some students studying in 4 th standard did not even
know how to properly read the language they speak.
