*Voyager Reading Assessments are administered twice during a six week grading period.

Children are
tested on words, sounds, fluency, and comprehension. Reading grades count 80% of your child's
Language Arts grade.
*Spelling Tests are administered each week. Spelling pretests are given on Thursday. If your child
makes a 100 they do not have a test on Friday. Post tests are given on Friday to students who did not
make 100 on Thursday. Spelling grades count 20% of your child's Language Arts grade.
*Math Tests are each week on Friday. A chapter review is sent home on Thursday as a study guide.
Each test counts 100 points.
*Social Science grades are given using a Rubric. A rubric is a scoring tool that identifies the different
criteria needed to complete an assignment or learning outcome, and then explicitly states the possible
levels of achievement along a continuum (poor to excellent or novice to expert). An example of a simple
science rubric is under the tab Rubric.
