Key information Fuel and Oil EU Stage 3B engines.

Dear Sir,
In scope of EU Stage 3B engines it will become more important to full fill the correct
specifications for oil and fuel to meet the engine legislation. For this reason we would like to
highlight some specific points that need your special attention

EU Stage 3B Service Policy

Stage 3B is legislation requirement

KLTD designed the engine to meet legislation.

Same legislation applies to all manufacturers

Below chart is an overview of the different stages

Maintenance Requirements
To maintain control of engine emissions and reliability there are maintenance
requirements, including following:

Komatsu specification for Fuel Sulfur content is maximum 15PPM

Komatsu Genuine Low Ash engine oil is strongly recommended

HC (Hydro Carbon) Doser cleaning interval: 4500hrs

CCV (Closed Crankcase Ventilation) Filter replacement: 2000hrs

KDPF (Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter) Ash cleaning interval

130KW: 4500h, 9000h, replacement at 13500h

EU Stage 3B: Komatsu Genuine Diesel Engine Oil Should Be Used


EO15W40- LA Part No.: KDEO-1540LA-20

NOTE: Engine Oil that meets API CJ-4, ACEA E9 or ACEA E6 can be used only with the
following conditions.
1)

Oil change interval of 250hrs.

2)

TBN: min 7 according to ASTM D4739

3)

HOT tube test to be performed. Min 6 at 280 degree C.
