PERSONAL PROFILE

After working as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry for nearly 12 years, I am now pursuing a
career change and commenced studying Primary Teaching in July 2013.
I am studying toward a Master of Teaching (Primary) qualification at Swinburne University, and have
enjoyed the return to study, especially as I find the material relevant and exciting, and feel that it is
reinforcing my suitability and desire to become a teacher.
I am excited about the professional experience aspects of the course and believe the placements in schools
throughout the course will complement and enrich my studies. I have enjoyed my time thus far in the
classroom, and appreciate the variety of teaching and learning styles I will be exposed to during my
placements.
I am a well organised person with strong attention to detail. I believe that my personal and work life has
given me great communication skills; I will relate well to both students and teachers in the school
environment.

EDUCATION
Master of Teaching (Primary), Swinburne University Commenced July 2013
Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Communication, Monash University Graduated 2002
Year 12, Mentone Girls Grammar School 1995

RELATED
EXPERIENCE
I volunteer through the
Ardoch Youth Foundation
and spend time each week
assisting a Year 1/2
teacher at Richmond West
Primary School.
I have had experience
caring for others
children: I provided child
care for a friends
daughter in my home in
2009/2010.
I have held a volunteers
WWC check since 2011,
which was initially
obtained so that I could
assist at my sons
Occasional Care Centre. I
have since been actively
involved in Kinder duty as
well as enjoying being an
excursion helper for my
sons class at school.

SKILLS
Whilst observing and working with a Mentor Teacher to fulfil the

additional support to a teacher, by effectively:

Helping with learning, playing and social development
Assisting with class preparations and creating a comfortable
learning environment
