Style/Artist/Title/Year: Your Manias Become Science was created by Barbara Kruger in 1981.
The style is Post-Modernism.
Color Scheme: The color scheme of Your Manias Become Science is monochromatic. The red
color is a primary color that accentuates the text. There is varying value of black that
creates a gradient of black, gray, and white.
Composition: The composition of Your Manias Become Science is overlapping composition.
There is a photograph of an explosion, possibly the mushroom cloud of an atomic bomb.
Overlapping this is the text Your manias become science. The text is large enough to
serve as the title to the background guiding the viewer to look into the background at the
photo.
Characteristics: According to Greiner and McMullian (2012), the Post-Modernism style includes
characteristics of Pop Art and Contemporary Art, combining realism and social culture to
evoke an emotional response of the viewer. This style uses an mixed style approach and a
multi-media approach. The background photo is layered with bold text.
