1. On a dark piece of paper, using white or light colored oil
pastels draw a tree using line to highlight the tree

3. Draw a moon
4. Using white acrylic paint, make 3 thumb prints in the
tree (this will be the owl bodies)LET DRY
5. Draw owl faces
Encourage students to make their tree unique, add
different types of branches.
Encourage students to use different types of lines to
create their treestraight or curved.
Enforce that students have all the pastel drawing done
before they make the paint thumb prints.
Circulate the room and be sure students are on task

Have students hang their artwork so they can see what
everyone else has done.
