Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
People should always show their strong emotions (such as excitement, anger or joy).
Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.
Kind words can be short and easy to speak,
but their echoes are truly endless.
- Mother Theresa
I agree that a person should show strong positive emotions but check the negative ones.
Happiness, excitement, and joyfulness can uplift a person. It has constructive and creative
effects and inspires the person to accomplish difficult tasks. In contrast, negative
emotions such as anger should be checked. It has harmful effects that can lead to evil
intentions.
Happiness and joyfulness should be shared with all people. It creates a bright disposition
that greatly influences other people to achieve. These emotions when shared encourage
everyone to work cooperatively towards a common vision.
Anger and hate are evil. In fact, there are suggestions on how to eliminate these bad
emotions. One is to think clearly, have a personal reflection, and meditate to release the
pent-up anger. Another is to count to ten or even a hundred to neutralize the strong
emotions. If unchecked, hate can lead to destructive activities just like what happened in
the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, where so many people perished.
In conclusion, to show positive emotions such as happiness, excitement, and joyfulness
are great because it encourages people to perk up and have a brighter day. Negative
emotions such as anger or hate should be checked and redirected because it leads to
disastrous results.
When angry, count to ten before you speak; if very angry, a hundred.
