ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS!
TH

On 29 October 2014, FT celebrated its 10 year anniverary! To

mark the occasion, staff and volunteers spent time playing games
and eating lunch together, as we remembered how the work started
so many years ago, and gave thanks to God for his provision and
faithfulness over these past 10 years.
If it wasnt for the financial and prayer support of our sponsors and
friends all over the world, this work would not be possible and we
would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of
you for your continued interest and support of FT. Please keep
praying - that the good news of the gospel will be made known
through all the different areas of ministry in 2015 and that FT will
continue to reach out into the community of Trinidad with Gods
love and the hope that He brings.

What is your role at FT?

I am the coordinator for the Hear Bolivia
project, which is financed by CBM and runs as
part of Fundacin Tota.

What does the project do?

The project works to prevent hearing deficit in
the Beni region, through specialist ENT
consultations and surgery. We provide health
campaigns in local provinces and isolated
communities and train teachers and health
care professionals in primary hearing and ear
care. We also provide hearing checks in
nurseries, schools and in the maternity
hospital.

What do you like best about your job?

I like working with the patients who need
surgery and to be able to help them, and
coordinate the activities with local authorities
and other institutions, and work alongside the
health team to fulfil the goals of the project.

In what way does FT show that it is an

organization with Christian values?
FT shows its Christian values in the warmth of
the healthcare provision to the patients,
looking to help resolve their problems, and
also in the kindness and friendliness shown in
the coordination of activities. The workers pray
together each morning and before health
campaigns.

The medical work continues, with patients lining up outside the

health centre, sometimes as early as 6am, to make appointments
with our ENT specialist. Other areas such as general medicine,
maxilofacial surgery, nursing, paedatrics and physiotherapy have
also been kept busy, and as rainy season has now started, there are
always more illnesses and a greater need for people to be able to
access affordable, good quality healthcare.
Please pray that the floods that affected Trinidad last year will not
be repeated this year. Pray also for the plans being made for 2015,
for the health campaigns, and surgeries, as well as the visits to local
nurseries and schools by the team of doctors and nurses.

FUNDACIN TOTA UPDATE, JANUARY 2015

COMMUNITY

The women from the arts and crafts class had the opportunity
to participate in a local craft fair in the Cultural House and
they each received certificates for their work. This group
finished in December with an exposition of all their work over
the year. They are looking forward to starting classes again in
March.

The community classes also finished in December and children

from the different classes came together to play and eat cake,
and they received certifcates for attendance and hard work in
their English classes. A 4th block of parenting workshops was
run for young mums and it was encouraging to see these
young women come along with enthusiasm to learn and share
together, and to make positive changes in their home - to love
and support their young children. The mother and toddler
group also finished for the holidays and will resume in March.

SPORTS
After the CYCAS training in September (mentioned in
the previous update), the team of students did an
outreach afternoon as their final exam. They
borrowed a local school playground and almost 200
children attended and it was wonderful to see so
many children come along to learn more from the
Bible, sing, play and have the chance to talk in small
groups with the leaders (see photo below) about
what had been taught. The young people who
completed the CYCAS course are now trained and
equipped to run 5 days clubs and Kids Games
activities in local schools and neighbourhoods.
Please pray for them as they use this training to
share the message of salvation with children and
young people in a fun, dynamic and creative way.

The sports programme finished in early December

with a barbeque and a closing ceremony for all the
children from the football and basketball school.

PLEASE PRAY!
Give thanks for Gods blessings in 2014 at FT - and in particular for
the 10 year anniversary of this ministry!
Give thanks for the end of year celebrations in sports, and
community and for this years activities as they get started in
Febrary/March.
th

Give thanks for the completion of the 4 block of workshops,

focusing on supporting young mums (aged 15-23) and pray for
these young mums who attended, and that they will put into
practice what they learnt.
Pray for the directors and the staff as they plan activities for 2015
and set goals for the new year ahead.
Pray for Craig and Amanda Cunnigham as they start work again at
FT in January after a years home assignment in Scotland.

Depending on the weather, training will start again

in late February. Please pray for the coaches as they
plan for the new season, and for the children over
the holiday period, and that they will come back
again when training starts.
Thank you so much for
your continued support
and prayers for the
work of FT. We wish
you a very Happy New
Year and pray that God
will bless and guide you
as you live for him in
2015!
