I believe that children are our future.

I believe every child has the

potential to bring something unique and special to the world. I wish to help children
develop their potential by believing in them as capable individuals. I believe in assisting
children in discovering who they are, so they can express their own opinions and
nurture their own ideas. I believe in giving students ample opportunities to express
themselves through all academic areas. I have a vision of a world where people learn to
respect, accept, and embrace the differences between us. As an educator, I hope to
create a learning environment where students feel safe and valued, and above all, I
hope to foster a love of learning in all my students. As an educator, I hope to provide
them the tools they need to become lifelong learners.

I believe in teaching to enable, enliven, and encourage. I believe in

giving children the skills necessary to build a strong foundation. I believe that students
should be taught through a variety of ways. Each student has a different learning style
and teachers must work towards every individual learner and the whole class. I do not
believe that it is the teachers job to simply fill students heads with knowledge; instead,
the teacher should act as a facilitator who leads students to knowledge. I believe a
teacher should bring the classroom alive for the students. My belief is in incorporating
themes, class discussions, projects, group work, individual work, and hands-on learning
in-order to create active learners. I believe the in developing a positive, supportive
environment students feel comfortable to grow, try, and question. I believe in fostering a
love for learning in all students.

Everyone should be taught with quality and respect. All learners

should be educated by a teacher who is multiculturally aware. A
s an educator, I have
to be aware that students of different cultures may learn best in a variety of ways.
Presenting students with an array of resources and multiple perspectives where
educational materials are multicultural, anti-prejudicial, and well-rounded. Within a
classroom I believe that students should have a sense of understanding and respect
among people of all ethnicities in order to break free of ignorance and hatred. I believe
that education should place an emphasis on the value of all students no matter the race,
ethnicity, socioeconomic, gender, language, orientation, and/or religion. A learning
community should be lead by an educator who fosters interactions and understandings
among a variety of people through meaningful projects.

All children can learn. All students students can learn when they are
accepted for who and where they are in their educational journey. I believe the best
place for learning is in a positive safe environment filled with kindness, laughter, and
support. Every child deserves the best education possible, regardless of special needs.
All children carry special gifts inside of them. As a teacher, one must guide students to
discover their individual gifts and talents and to reach their full potential. Students
should be encouraged to understand and celebrate the differences that make each
individual special. Understanding diversity is not only important in the classroom, but as
part of a community and citizen of the world.

Technology is changing our world. As a technology integrator, I believe

the providing a balanced education with the use of technology. I believe in providing the
21st century skills students will need throughout their education, higher education, and
career. Learners should be educated on how to be a 21st century learner. With the
rapidly changing world of technology, I believe as an educator to provide students with
the best tools for continued learning.

Lifelong learners. I believe in creating the spark within a student. I believe in

keeping the spark alive within a learner. As a teacher one is not the keeper of
knowledge. As Socrates stated: education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a
vessel. The role of the teacher is a facilitator or coach that presents the conditions of
learning. The educator helps the students develop the skills to be a lifelong learner.
Providing learners with the skills to know where to look in order to see the answers they
seek inside and outside the classroom.

Education is the most powerful weapon we can use

to change the world.
