Mitacs Globalink Research Award

Dear Dr. Xu,

We are very pleased to advise you that your application for a Mitacs Globalink Research Award has been
approved. You have been approved for an award of $5,000 to support travel to China and living
expenses for your student, Jacklyn Lather, associated with your project, subject to Mitacs receiving the
International Pre-Departure Form. Please note that the intern may not travel abroad for this project
until this condition is met. As well, in accordance with Mitacs requirements, the start date of the
internship cannot predate this approval and the time abroad working on the project must be min. 12
weeks to max. 24 weeks. Please also note that Mitacs is unable to release any funds prior to the receipt
of this form. Please submit this completed document to Mitacs as soon as available.
Mitacs requires each student consult with the appropriate university office to ensure compliance with
the home institutions requirements and policies pertaining to research abroad. Please note, it is the
students responsibility to ensure they comply with the university offices required timeline for
completing the consultation. Applicants must adhere to their Canadian universitys policies and
regulations regarding research abroad in order to remain eligible for the Globalink Research Award.
Please note that all awards are subject to continuation of funding for our Globalink Research Award
projects by our government partners.

Mitacs Globalink Research Award Details
The award consists of a $5000 contribution from Mitacs.
Mitacs Globalink builds a living bridge between Canada and international partners by establishing and
reinforcing global links through student mobility. The Mitacs Globalink Research Award is an exciting
new initiative that provides the opportunity for faculty members and students at Canadian universities
to build an international research network and undertake research abroad.
