Save the Planet! Reduce Global Warming
Global warming is caused because of something called The Greenhouse Gases.
Greenhouse gases traps some of the suns heat, which makes the earth warmer. Also, the
more carbon dioxide or CO is in the air, the stronger the greenhouse gases are. The
2

trapped suns heat couldnt bounce/get back out of the atmosphere and into space, when
there's too much CO2, the stronger the greenhouse gas is and then more suns heat/light
will be trap and the earth will become warmer, and warmer and then become super-hot.
This is the cause of global warming. You might now think that greenhouse gases and
global warming is a bad thing. True it is, but its not completely bad. Life on Earth
wouldnt be possible without it. We depend on it to stay warm. Though that was said, too
much global warming isnt a good thing. There are many serious/dangerous and
destructive effects of global warming. Can you imagine living in a world with extreme
climates and crazy weather changes that you can't predict what will happen next!
Animals/plants on the verge of becoming extinct, and temperatures rising? This world
really isnt too hard to imagine because were living in it! Little by little, the temperature
is rising and in over a few generations this world will be very hard to live on. Think about
it. Do you seriously think you or anyone can survive in that kind of world? This is the
result of too much global warming. There are many kinds of different, harmful effects of
too global warming. Some harmful effects are intense weather patterns and animals are
also more likely to become extinct. Animals such as polar bears, penguins, fish, and other
kinds of animals/species. Too much global warming can even destroy animals habitats.

As you read on, youll learn more about the harmful effects of too much global warming,
but also you can find out ways to reduce global warming. Unfortunately, global warming
is caused by us, but if everyone works together its possible to reduce global warming and
avoid all these harmful things in the future. Read on and learn the harmful effects of
global warming and ways reduce it. You might even want to contribute and try to reduce
global warming. Remember, this is for you, your kids, grandkids and future generations.
Just a little bit would help reduce global warming. Please support the reduce of global
warming and to learn more please read on.
A harmful effect of too much global warming is that too much global warming
causes extreme climates/weather changes. According to www.nwf.org/Wildlife/Threatsto-Wildlife/Global-Warming/Global-Warming-is-Causing-Extreme-Weather.com, it said,
Weather and climate extremes will be the most visible impact of global warming in our
everyday lives. This statement shows that weathers/climates changes will have a big
impact on us, on our everyday lives. This website contains section of weathers/climates
changes of too much global warming. It said that too much global warming can cause
stronger hurricanes, floods, droughts, and wildfires. You might wonder can too much
global warming cause all this. Of course it can, it happening right now all over the world.
According to www.nrdc.org/globalwarming/.com, it said, Global warming doesn't create
hurricanes, but it can make them stronger and more dangerous. This statement clearly
stated that global warming is making hurricanes stronger. How? Well, according to the
same website www.nrdc.org/globalwarming/.com, it said, The ocean is getting warmer,
tropical storms can pick up more energy and become more powerful. Meaning that,
since the ocean is getting warmer, when there is a tropical storm, it can pick up more

energy than usual and become more destructive. This can cause many death and damages.
Also, base on scientist research, the result shows the more destructive potential of
hurricanes has greatly increase with the rising temperature of the sea love the past few
years. Furthermore, global warming can also cause more floods. As the temperature
increase, the ice/glaciers starts melting which increase the sea levels and if the sea level
continues to rise, towns and lands near the coast will all be flooded. According to
www.nwf.org/Wildlife/Threats-to-Wildlife/Global-Warming/Global-Warming
-is-Causing-Extreme-Weather/Floods.com, it said that too much global warming is to
blame for heavy rainfall because warmer air can hold more moisture so heavier
precipitation is expected in the years to come. Meaning that warm air can contain
moister, which can cause heavier rainfalls/high chance of floods. According to
www.nrdc.org/health/climate/floods.com, it said that floods can cause a range of death
range of health impacts and risks, including: death and injury, contaminated drinking
water, hazardous material spills, increased populations of disease. This statement overall
meaning is that floods can cause death/risk of health, can pollute drinking water and
increase diseases. These are the dangerous effect of floods caused by too much global
warming. Too much global warming can also cause droughts. Droughts is the opposite of
floods, droughts is too less water while floods is too much. According to
www.climatehotmap.org/global-warming-effects/drought.com, it said that too much
global warming affect the speed of evaporation. In this case the speed of evaporation is
faster, which means that water will evaporate faster and with warmer air or too warm air,
it can cause less rain or no rain which can cause droughts. With less water, crops cant
grow and will wither and die and it can affect humans population and also the

environment. Land that used to be green can be really dry like a desert. Too much global
warming has a really serious effect on the environment, which is called climate
change/weather change.
Another harmful effect of too much global warming is that global warming is
causing more animals/plants to become extinct. According to www.nwf.org/wildlife/
Threats-to-wildlife/global-warming, it said, Global warming is quickly becoming the
biggest threat to the long-term survival of Americas wildlife. This statement clearly
stated that global warming is a threat to America or the worlds wildlife/animals/plants.
Also, according to www.nrdc.org/globalwarming/fcons/fcons3.com, it said, Polar bears
are drowning because they have to swim longer distances to reach ice floes. This shows
that since global warming is causing the ice to melt, polar bears need to swim more to
reach the ice floes which cause them to drown. Furthermore, it also said, The U. S.
Geological Survey has predicted that two-thirds of the world's polar bear sub-populations
will be extinct by mid-century due to melting of the Arctic ice cap. This is just a
prediction, but most likely to happen since global warming is making the ice melt. In
addition, penguins are also in danger. According to the same website, it said, Over the
past 25 years, some Antarctic penguin populations have shrunk by 33 percent. 33
percent is less than half, but its quite a lot. If a certain species become extinct it affects
the whole food web. Some species population will increase while other can decrease. In
addition, too much global warming can even destroy underwater habitats/environment. It
said, The ocean will continue to become more acidic due to carbon dioxide. This means
that the ocean can become more toxic. It then said, Scientists predict that a 3.6 degree
Fahrenheit increase in temperature would wipe out 97 percent of the world's coral reefs.

This mean that if the global warming continues and the ocean get warmer by another 3.6
degree Fahrenheit, then the 97% of the world's coral reef will die off. This is a lot. More
than half. This can also affects the fishes because they live in corals and hide near there.
If the corals are gone, fishes will most likely to be eaten by other big predators in the
ocean. This situation will then affect us because fish is one of the foods we eat and then
we might be lacking food (or seafood to be more precise). These are the harmful effects
of too much global warming.
The two major harmful effects of too much global warming is really dangerous
isnt it? It has a lot of impact on the climate/weather, animals and even us. Dont you
want to do something about it? If you're someone who cares about the environment or
animals or the future generation then you should definitely help to reduce global
warming. Global warming is caused by us, so of course we can do something about it if
everyone work/contribute together. Here are some tips to reduce global warming. For
example, dont use too much oils, coals, and fossil fuels which you burn to create
heat/electricity which then can cause more carbon dioxide and increase global warming.
According to a book called, Protect Our Planet: Global Warming, by Angela Royston, on
page 18 it said, People can slow down global warming by burning less coal, oil, and
natural gas. Scientist are inventing new fuels and engines that do not make such carbon
dioxide. These are called low-carbon fuels and engines. This statement is stating that
you can use low-carbon fuels for heat/electricity and low-carbon engines for long
distances. Also, why not use wind, hydro and solar energy? According to a the same
book, on page 19, it said that scientists had found ways to make electricity without
burning coals, oils, natural gas, fossil fuels and others. One way is to use the power of

the wind. Wind Turbines can make electricity. They do not create carbon dioxide. How?
Well, the wind turn the blades on the turbines and the rotation of the blades create energy
which turns into electricity. It also said, on page 20, that Some power stations use
moving water to make electricity. A dam is built across a valley to make a alike. Some of
the water from the lake flows through the dam and the power stations. This kind of power
station does not make carbon dioxide. This has the same process as the wind turbine.
The energy of the water flowing through the dam/power station make energy and it turns
into electricity. Furthermore, on page 21, it said, The sun can be used to make electricity.
Many mirrors guide the Suns ray onto one spot and the liquid becomes very hot. The
heat is used to make electricity. This happens in a power station of using the Suns ray.
This also has the same process as the wind turbine and dam. The Suns ray/light warm the
water and the hot water create energy which turns into electricity. You can buy solar
panels. It has the same effects as the powerstation, but smaller/simplier. Its cheap and it
creates a lot of electricity in the daytime and in hot seasons. In the winter and at night you
can use other source of electricity. Just doing that, help reduce global warming. Overall
solar, hydro, and wind energy can all create electricity without creating more carbon
dioxide which can increase global warming. You can travel short distances by
biking/cycling or walking (This can count as exercise). Furthermore, dont turn the heater
off if you dont need it or the air conditioner and you should close the light if you dont
need it. There's a lot of things you can do to help reduce global warming even if its not
listed down here. Go online and search up Ways to reduce global warming and tons of
website will show up and it will have a lot of information. For example the website,
www.homeguides.sfgate.com/top-ways-stop-global-warming.com.

Some may argue that others might not believe global warming or want to believe
in global warming and that global warming is caused by us and that we are the one
responsible for the harmful effects of global warming. However, according to
www.newsmax.com/US/global-warming-poll.com it said, The climate change we are
currently seeing is largely the result of human activity, 32 percent in the U.S. said they
didn't agree. This shows that there's people that doesn't believe in global warming.
However, global warming is real and yes, unfortunately its caused by us. According to
www.nwf.org/Wildlife/Threats-to-Wildlife/Global-Warming/
Global-Warming-is-Human-Caused.com it said, Scientific data have since established
that, for hundreds of thousands of years, changes in temperature have closely tracked
with atmospheric CO concentrations. Since the Industrial Revolution, the burning of
2

coal, oil and natural gas has emitted roughly 500 billion tons of CO , about half of which
2

remains in the atmosphere. This CO is the biggest factor responsible for recent warming
2

trends. This statement shows that the burning of coals, oils, natural gases, and fossil
fuels and others, causes more CO2, which is increasing the Earth temperature. These
activities are caused by us. We are the main reason of the increase of global warming
because humans have been burning all these fuels. Global warming is happening and we
are the cause. Lets face it.
In conclusion, the harmful effects of global warming are extreme weather changes
and more animals are becoming extinct. Overall it shows that the harmful effects of too
much global warming are all connected to other harmful effects of global warming. Like
how if the environment and weather changes rapidly, the animals and we will have hard

time adapting. If animals die, we will be lacking source of food. Everything is connected
to each other. To prevent this from happening, use the tips that was given and
reduce of global warming. Too much global warming is a serious problem. There are
organizations out there that are trying their best to reduce global warming. They are
contributing a lot of efforts to this situation because they care. They care about the
environment/climate and they care about the animals. They're doing these for the future
generation. They know that theyre in danger and they want to do something about it.
These organizations are Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, and a lot more. These members
in the organization overall cares about Earth. Dont you care about your home planet? In
addition, if possible why dont you join them? Please support and contribute to reducing
global warming.
