NIVASA is an NGO lead by architects who have been working on a project in
the outskirts of Bangalore. It is a community building activity where houses and infrastructure are being built for villages with ecologically sustainable material and cost effective techniques. Who can apply for the programme Architecture student of any semesters who are interested in learning from hands on work and learning mud construction and design. Students who are looking to use their vacation time to learn through practical work can apply. This programme may be spread of 15 days. Architect Akhila Ramesh founder of NIVASA and her colleagues will be at our department on 22nd Dec 2014 at 10am at the studio space to make a presentation of their work and opportunities for you. Interested students may please be present at the department on 22 nd Dec 10am for more queries and a presentation about the programme. Nivasa NGO representatives will be here to address the questions. Cost There is no fee for the programme but the commute charges will have to be borne by the participants. Advantages and learning The students will have an opportunity to learn building detailing and cost effective techniques in a Hands on way. This knowledge will come in handy in future course works and semesters.
