TO MYLIBRARYNYC!

No Fines
No nes on any books at BPL and NYPL as

long as you are a K-12 student. Fines will


not carry over from any older cards. (Note that
borrowing privileges may be suspended if items are not
returned)

In Queens, you will read down any nes.


If you had an account blocked because of an

older card, you can now check out books


with the MyLibraryNYC Student Card!

You can check out


Books, DVDs, and CDs from your

local branch
eBooks in interactive formats!
Electronic magazine, newspaper,
and reference articles for research
and to build up knowledge!

Connecting with your school


librarian, teacher, and
classmates!
You can
Keep track of your reading online and share your
choices with your friends and teachers
See what your school librarian, teacher, and
classmates are reading for recommendations and
research.
Rate what you think of books (is it 5 star book or a
2 star one?)
Create lists of your favorite books (Best Scary
Books, Best Action Books) to share with others!

How to Register
Click on your librarys BiblioCommon Website
Click on the Login Button

1. Type in the barcode


2. Enter the Pin Number 2012 in the password

box

Type in an email address is you have one (it can be

your parent or guardians address. If not, you can


leave it blank.)
Enter your Date of Birth
Click the Next button

Pick a User Name

Click Register.

Searching Bibli
Type in the box what you are looking for. Click

on the NYPL Results button to include books/


resources from both the public and your school
library collections. If the book is at your school,
it will indicate it with the blue triangle.

My Shelves
My Shelves allows you to keep track of your

reading. You can decide if you want to share your


reading with others by making it public.
Step 1: Find a Book
Step 2: Click on Add to My Shelves. Decide if you
want to add it to Completed, In Progress, For Later.

Rating a Book
You can rate books with a star rating.

Step 1: Search for the book you want.


Step 2: Click on the Title
Step 3: Hold the Mouse over the stars and click
on the star rating you want to give the book.

My Lists
You can create a list of your favorite books.
Step 1: Click on My Library=>My Lists

Click on Create a New List

Step 1: Pick a Name for your


List
Step 2: Select a List Type
Step 3. Decide if the list is
private or public

Add Items to Lists


Step 1: Look for a book
Step 2: Click on the Title of
the Book

Step 3: Click Save to a List


Step 4: Choose Existing
List
Step 5: Click Add

Placing Holds
Click on the Place Hold button
Choose the branch where you want the book to be

delivered to
In order to pickup a hold you activate your card:
NYPL: Turn in your application at the local branch with a
Parent/Guardians signature
BPL: Fill out application online here
Queens: Turn application in your school librarian with
Parent/Guardians signature
