KESSLER CALLS FOR A DAY OF ACTION

CHARLESTON, W.V. Senate Minority Leader Jeff Kessler (D-Marshall) is urging all West
Virginians to come to the State Capitol as a show support for West Virginias working men and
women and building contractors.
Minority Leader Kessler made his plea from the senate floor following an attempt to kill SB 361,
the bill to repeal West Virginias prevailing wage law.
West Virginia and its working men and women are under attack by the new Republican majority
who are steamrolling harmful legislation through the chamber, says Kessler. Repealing the
states prevailing wage will drive wages down. Thats radical and wrong! Im asking all West
Virginians - union, labor, contractors, business owners, and teachers everyone, to come to the
Capitol on Presidents Day, Monday, February 16, and demand their voices be heard.
Minority Leader Kessler is calling the day of action Show up, Stand up Day. He is
encouraging everyone to be at the Capitol by 11:00a.m. for a rally at noon on the south side steps
(on the Kanawha River side) of the Capitol.
