Sixers Add to Growing Stockpile of Draft Picks with Another

The Sixers recently added to its stockpile of second-round draft
picks with a three-team trade that sent guard Alexey Shved to the
Houston Rockets in exchange for Houstons 2015 second-round
draft pick, forward Ronny Turiaf, and the rights to Sergei Lishouk,
who is currently playing for the Liga ACB team in Valencia, Spain.
Turiaf, who is in the final year of a contract and sidelined after
undergoing surgery on his right hip, was released by the Sixers
following the trade in order to open up another roster spot.
With the additional draft pick acquired in the recent trade deal, the
Sixers now have a total of 21 picks through 2020, including six in
2015 alone. The team hopes these future draft picks will help
provide the talent needed to become a championship contender.
