Rese ng the CTERA Appliance to Its Default Se ngs


You can reset the appliance to its default se ngs.
Warning
This ac on erases all of your passwords and se ngs, and you will need to recongure the appliance as described
in Se ng Up the CTERA Appliance.
The appliance can be reset to defaults via the appliance Web interface or using the Reset bu on on its rear panel.

To reset the appliance to its default se ngs via the appliance Web interface
1. In the Congura on tab's naviga on pane, click System > Congura on Tools.
The System > Congura on Tools page appears.
2. Click Reset to Defaults.
A conrma on message appears.
3. Click Yes.
The appliance is reset to its default se ngs.
The Login page appears.

To reset the C200 to its default se ngs using the Reset bu on


While the appliance is up and running, press the Reset bu on for at least 10 seconds.

The appliance is reset to its default se ngs and reboots.

To reset the C400/C800 to its default se ngs using a serial cable


1. Shut down the appliance.
See Shu ng Down the CTERA Appliance.
2. Connect to the appliance's COM port using a serial cable, and follow the displayed instruc ons.

For informa on on loca ng the C800's COM port, see Rear Panel.
The terminal program must be set to operate using the following specica ons: 115200-N-8-1.
3. Switch on the appliance. While the appliance is star ng up, the message Press ESC to enter the menu will be
displayed in the terminal for three seconds. During the three seconds, press the ESC key.
