Discussion
Is there a connection between the high number
of economically disadvantaged students and
the high transient rate?
What are some possible
advantages/disadvantages of teaching at a
school with a fairly heterogeneous make up?
What outside factors affect your schools
performance? How will you address these
factors?

About Meets and Exceeds Rates

by Race/Ethnicity
Due to extremely small population sizes amongst
some races, the following slide is an average of
student meets & exceeds rates of the three year
data period.
I feel that this would provide a more accurate
picture with which our data team can base its
work.
Discussion: what affect can small sample size
have on data samples

Areas of Caution

There is an immediate need in the achievement of

students with disabilities on the Social Studies CRCT.
The number of students meeting and exceeding the
Social Studies CRCT has declined 50 percentile points in
just three years.
While there are a number of reasons this may have
occurred, Ashworth must take immediate action in this
area to better serve students with disabilities in this area.
2013 saw an 11 percentile point drop in Social Studies
achievement amongst African American students.

Areas of Success

Ashworth continually out performs the state on the

Social Studies CRCT.
Ashworth has enjoyed continued growth from
students who qualify for free and reduced lunch.
Social Studies achievement amongst 6th graders
has increased by 5 percentile points since 2011.
Ashworths Hispanic population has shown
continual growth in the area of Social Studies
achievement.
