This is the latest news from Dileep & May Ratnaike. How about grabbing a beverage, and let's take a few minutes to catch up.

Visual arts in Prague

In under 24 hours I (Dileep) leave for 26 days in Prague,
Czech Republic. With a team of visual artists we will be
partnering with a local church to bring the Good news to
the people of Prague. Through prayer, listening and
learning the team we will respond artistically to present
the message God wants to bring. This will happen
through panting, drawing, photography, clay sculpture
and textiles. In additon to our own art production, we will
conduct workshops to more closely engage with people.
Our venue is a large tent in the 'New Town' (which is still
600 years old). During the day the public are free to drop
be and visit, have a look and a chat and in the evening
there will be some short lectures on relevant topics, such
as: apologetics; who is Jesus, relationships; etc.

might even discover some 'old news'.
There are many 'firsts' to this venture and unknowns, so
we are fully leaning on the Lord to "make it happen".
Pray for me as I lead the team and pray for the team
overall - for effective ministry, good weather and health,
team unity, creative and divine inspiration.
After Prague, I head to Istanbul for just under a week to
attend OM Internaitonal's Communication Working Group
meetings. The hope is to improve OM Arts

communication efforts - we're struggling!!!

A busy office
The last few months at the office have been very busy.
May has been quietly working away at getting all OM
Arts data consolidated into one data base. Once
completed, we should see an increase in giving and
recruiting as we are able to better communicate with
individuals and across different OM offices. May is also
the first responder to inquiries that we receive. She also
determines who needs follow up and from whom. Our
2013 financial year will start in October - we are trusting
God to see at least US $70,000 to fund OM Arts for next
year. This covers the School of Mission in Italy, our staff
leading short term arts mission trips, meetings, marketing
and advertising, professional development for the staff.
There are a myraid of things that go on in the office, from
planning complex outreaches, to putting out figurative
fires. There is no such thing as a 'normal day.'
More and more I see the evidence of spiritual attack as
we go about our daily business. We are in a spiritual
conflict, that is reality. It is tiring and tough, and that is
what we are called to.

Health & Home

Health wise we are keeping well. Some seasonal
allergies are messing with Dileep, but that's about all. I
(Dileep) do feel up to full capactiy and strength and still
careful to not overextend myself. We haven't really done
much at home - the summer months mean lots of grass
mowing. May's veggie patch has yielded good crops of
cucumbers, zucchini, capsicum (green peppers) chilli
peppers and egg plants. What great flavour and
satisfaction growing your own vegetables. we also grew
sunflowers that the squirrels quickly decimated.

Art & Life

The High Museum of Art Atlanta: This outstanding art
museum is one of ur favorite
hangouts. The regular
exhibits and plentiful special
exhibits are always inspiring
and energising. As May and I
pursue our own art
(photography, music, jewellry
etc.) The 'High' invokes
feelings of restlessness, and
discontent. we want to
improve, get better go farther
... stay tuned.

New project deadline: Christmas 2012! (see the blog)

We've decided that the 'project' must be completed
before new projects are started. Still can't figure out what
color to paint our bedroom - you'd think after two years
we'd have figured that out.

Sleeping dogs: Over the

last couple of weeks we
looked after our friend's dog
while they were away
celebrating a milestone
wedding annivesary. With
two hounds in the house, we
had a lot of fun and both
hounds became good friends.
The light colored one is
Pantoffels (ours) and the
other Cali (the guest). The
one under the sheet is Dileep.
