OBJECTIVES
After studying this module, student will
be able to understand :

INTRODUCTION
o IAQ is quality of the air in an office
environment.
o The content of interior air that could affect
health and comfort of building occupants
o The IAQ may be compromised by microbial
contaminants, chemicals or any mass or energy
stressor that can induce health effects.
o Using ventilation to dilute contaminants,
filtration, and source control are the primary
methods for improving indoor air quality in
most buildings.

HVAC DESIGN
The issue of indoor air quality
throughout the design of a building's
life.
Carbon dioxide sensors are used to
control the rate, based on the emissions
of actual building occupants.
One way of quantitatively ensuring the
health of indoor air is by the frequency
of effective turnover of interior air by
replacement with outside air.
