REQUIRED CONTROLS

Describe fully all equipment, facility, and/or procedure controls applicable for each
hazard (i.e. if PPE is used as control, it must be specifically describe.) If a control
can only be verified by documentation then it must be available. All controls must
be valid in that they reduce severity, probability of both.

S: Maintain good housekeeping, all stairs and hand rails to be kept clean, dry
and free from any obstruction at all times.
Place stickers HOLD HANDRAIL WHEN USING STAIRS near the stairs. Hand
and foot to be dried before using stairs.
Pay attention to the steps spacing and ensure to distinguish the edges of the
steps. If possible, land the whole footing on the steps, i.e. by sideways. Wear
non-slippery soled shoes.
Walk, dont run when using stairs.
Always free one hand to hold hand rail.
Focus on ascending/descending the stairs and descend NAVY STYLE, facing
the stairway.
Ensure footing is stable as grip on handrail is reduced to less friction.
Avoid painting steps and handrail with glossy paints.
Apply non-skid tape on the steps, 2 cm from outer edges.
