To Plagiarize or not to Plagiarize?
Plagiarism is still used today because students think they will never get caught. The interesting
fact is that there are tools out there including apps that can be used to find out whether or not a
paper has been plagiarized. It is not in the students best interest to plagiarize when completing
your own work. Its stealing someone else's thoughts and work of art. If you put an effort into
writing your own work, you may come up with a new idea no one else has ever seen. If you want
to use someone else's work, always use proper etiquette and cite your work. Give that person the
credibility they deserve.

Hello Ashley,
I agree that plagiarism is also a form of laziness as well. Procrastination can get the best of
students, which is why I would love to see future teachers showing students how to schedule
their work. Some students are not taught how to schedule or break down an assignment properly
to complete the task in a timely manner. I think it is our duty as teachers to start them young and
bring them up to learn how to schedule their assignments in increments so that it can be
completed in a timely manner. That way, if it is not completed properly, then it is pure laziness
that got the best of them. I slowly see that teachers are starting to buy planners for students to
use. I really think students should use this in school so that they learn responsibility and
scheduling.

Hello Alexsa,
You mentioned that a future employer can see that someone plagiarized. I guess that would be
something that shows as a criminal record? I would have no idea given that I have never done
that. I agree that students need to understand it is illegal to plagiarize and need to learn to do their
own work. I also agree that it is important for teachers to explain the consequences to students so
that they are aware and informed of what could happen if caught.
