Read the purposes of mythology listed below. Although we dont use myths to
address these purposes, they are still concerns that we, as humans, have. Under each
purpose of mythology, identify the modern branch of study or organization that we
have to fulfill that purpose. Write it in the space. Some might have more than one
possible answer.

z Step 7: Characteristics of Mythology z

Read the characteristics of mythology listed below. How are these characteristics
represented in our modern entertainment? For each one, list an example from a
modern book, comic, movie, video game, or TV show. Be specific - dont just name
the show; identify how that show contains the characteristic. Also AVOID
entertainment based on Greek myths (for instance the Percy Jackson series or the
God of War video game series).

Greek God/Goddess Trading Card Project
Instructions: You are designing the layout for a card. This card will be part of a new

trading card game that will be based on mythological Greek gods, goddesses, and other
mythological figures.

Read the information you have received. Based on this information, draw a picture of the

god or goddess. Determine what is his/her power, and provide a brief background of his/

her history. Finally, list any important relations. Be prepared to present your trading card;
you are now the class expert on this particular god or goddess. Remember to make sure
you record the source where you obtained any facts.

In the space below, complete your rough draft. On the second sheet, complete your
good copy. Your good copy should be in black ink. It should also be colored.
