By installing Solar PV or Biomass Boilers your school becomes a Microgenerator and generates its own clean and FREE power. Every unit
(kWh) you generate on site is a unit you dont buy from the grid.
Its a government policy introduced in 2010 to encourage the uptake of renewable energy
in the UK. It rewards you for any energy you generate from a solar PV installation,
regardless of whether you use the electricity or not. The income is guaranteed for 20 years
and is index-linked, meaning it will go up each year with inflation.
The energy supplier pays a set rate for every unit (kWh) . Rate is reviewed each quarter
and may drop up to 3.5% each quarter, next rate change 31st March 2015, However the
rate secured for 20 years and in fact rises with inflation 1st April each year

The non-domestic RHI scheme has been open to commercial, industrial, public sector, not
for profit and heat networks since November 2011. The scheme is designed to bridge the
gap between the cost of fossil fuel heat installations and renewable heat alternatives
through financial support for owners.

3.9 Leasing
3.9.1 There are two types of lease:
operating leases: these do not represent borrowing; and
finance leases: these are a form of borrowing
3.9.2 Trusts do not require EFAs approval for operating leases except for
transactions relating to land or buildings.
3.9.3 Trusts must obtain prior approval from EFA for the following leasing
transactions:
taking up a finance lease on any class of asset for any duration from another
party (borrowing);
taking up a leasehold or tenancy agreement on land or buildings from another
party for a lease term of more than five years; and
granting a leasehold interest, including a tenancy agreement, of any duration,
on land or buildings to another party
Because were are Carbon Trust Accredited supplier and as part of the audit
process we have to be able to prove that the installation can be paid for out of
the savings made and the Government incentives received for the scheme to
go ahead
