Audience feedback of final music magazine

Once I had finished my music magazine, I asked ten members of my class

what they liked and disliked about each page.
Cover page:
LIKES:
- 8/10 people said that my cover page looked very professional and
realistic.
- 7/10 said that the strapline was effective
- 9/10 liked the chosen fonts
- All agreed that the front cover flowed because of the use of only a couple
of colours
DISLIKES & IMPROVEMENTS:
- 3/10 said that the strapline should be bigger and more prominent as
they feel it could be missed
- 4/10 said that the colour scheme may slightly appeal to males more than
females
- Some said the barcode should be smaller as it is slightly too large
Contents page:
LIKES:
- All said that they liked the consistency of the colours and that this made
a nice theme for -the magazine
- 8/10 said that they liked the social network links, and that this was also
appropriate for the target audience
- 7/10 liked the fact I had used the same font as the masthead
- All liked the fact a female was included as this makes it less gendered
DISLIKES & IMPROVEMENTS:
- 3/10 said that they wouldve liked a different font
- 4/10 said that, again, the colour scheme may appeal more to males than
females
- Some said my contents page was slightly too empty and shouldnt have
a white background as it makes it look unfinished
Double page spread:
LIKES:
- All liked the layout as it looks professional
- 7/10 liked the fact the green was matched to the leafy background as it
made it flow
- 8/10 agreed the article was realistic
- 8/10 liked the use of drop caps and pull quotes
DISLIKES AND IMPROVEMENTS:
- Although they liked the layout, some said that the magazine is almost
too neat and looks like it would also suit an older age group
- Some wanted other photos on the other page rather than all text

Reflection on audience feedback

Overall I am very pleased with my feedback as I got a lot of positive
comments.
I agree with all the improvement comments I received, and if I was to do
this magazine again, I would keep the theme and make all pages have
something in common as this was the thing my audience liked the most.
However, I would test my colour schemes before I used them and ask
people what ones the preferred. I also would make my strapline more
prominent, and maybe put it in a box like the advertisement.
