Most of us are quite familiar with the tiny five-centavo and ten-centavo coins, and

more often, we ought to see them as useless and nuisance in our pockets because it
cannot buy anything nowadays. However, these coins could help us later on in
settling the necessary amount when we buy something that involves centavos on it,
as well as, larger denominations couldnt be formed without these coins that
constitute it. This is quite similar in our everyday life. We prefer those things which
are great and big, and disregard or reject what appears to be small or trivial. In the
gospel, the people dont want to give back the landowners share of the harvest but
instead beat and kill those emissaries he sent. Because of their greed and
selfishness, they refuse to give the landowner his due share. The Lord is inviting us
to reflect the importance of prayer and gratitude in our life. Everyday, we receive
numerous blessings from Him, and as a sign of gratitude, it would be only just to
give Him back this favor through prayer of praise and thanksgiving. Most often, we
disregard this kind of prayer and we only pray to ask for our needs. This prayer of
praise and thanksgiving would be later on the cornerstone of our relationship with
Him. We do this not for His own sake but for our sake. Through this prayer, we
profess that everything comes from Him and that we only depend on His
providence. So let us sing of hymn of praise and thanksgiving everyday!
