Carolina Indigo: 18th century South Carolinians diversified the plantation economy with the

surrounding its development and demise as a cash crop. Tie dye your own t-shirt with indigo and
learn all about the "magical" history of this amazing plant. (Bring your own t-shirt!)

Water Habitats at Caw Caw: Discover how water connects and defines Lowcountry habitats.
Students investigate fresh and brackish water environments and learn how organisms can act as
indicators as to the health of the overall system. We will walk the trails at Caw Caw, use
microscopes to key out plankton & macro-invertebrates, and collect water samples from two
distinct habitats.
