Class workpoints varyClass work can vary in points and must be turned in at the end
of the period. Class work will be accepted at the end of the day or the next day on a caseby-case basis.
Behavioral Expectations:
All rules in the student handbook apply. I expect students to show respect, responsibility,
and kindness at all times when in my classroom. Students are to take responsibility for
themselves, which means coming to class on time, being prepared, completing work, and
making up assignments when absent. For any student that does not show these
characteristics, I will give one warning and then a detention will be given. Cell phones
may be used in class for educational purposes (looking up definitions, researching, etc.)
and during work time at the teachers discretion. If a cell phone is used for any other
purpose, the student will receive a warning. If the warning is ignored, the cell phone may
be taken away.

Late Work:
Assignments are due on the scheduled due date, unless otherwise instructed by the
teacher. Assignments submitted online are due by 3:00pm. All work submitted late will
be subjected to loss of credit: 1 day=10%, 2 days=20%, 3 days=50%. After the third day,
the assignment will receive a zero. This applies to all work.

Essay Rewrites:
Students have the opportunity to meet the writing standards of the course. Therefore,
most essay assignments that fail to demonstrate mastery of these standards are eligible to
be re-written according to the following guidelines:
A student who wishes to rewrite an essay must schedule a conference with the teacher
prior to the rewrite within one week of receiving their graded paper. During the
conference, the teacher will identify areas of improvement and the student will have up to
three days to revise and resubmit their essay. The higher score of the two versions of the
essay will be posted to Progress Book. Papers which have had points deducted for not
following the directions of the assignment (lack of revisions, no pre-writing, being late,
etc.) are not eligible to be re-written.
