Dear Ms. Benninger:
Hello, my name is Amanda Morse, and I am an 8th grade student at Del Mar
Middle School located in Tiburon, California. The reason I am writing this letter to
your organization is because I would like to compliment the things you have been
doing to help society. In addition to this, I have a few questions about how I can
get involved with this organization.
I was first introduced to your organization through my grandparents, because the
two of them are heavily involved with Guide Dogs for the Blind. In addition to
being involved with this organization, my grandparents also have 2 Guide Dogs;
one is retired and the other one just finished her career as a breeder. Your
organization trains and breed dogs to help/serve the blind. Also, you offer a
puppy-raising program where people receive the puppy at 8 weeks, and return it
at 13 or 15 months. Throughout that time, the puppy raisers raise and train the
puppy to have good manners and be obedient. I admire your organization
because it stands out from all of the other non-profits. It isnt just helping breed
dogs for adoption, but what your doing is really making an impact. It ties in
breeding dogs and helping others who arent as lucky as everyone else. By having
a dog, blind people have a feeling of security that cant be them by not having a
dog.
In my opinion, your organization and what you do does not need to be changed or
fixed in any way. I believe that what you are doing is changing the lives of people
everywhere and there is nothing to change about that. Guide dogs for the Blind
has people involved, it provides true care for the dogs and is continuing to help
the lives of blind people.
As a part of getting involved, I would love to volunteer for Guide Dogs for the
Blind. I have always loved dogs and it would be amazing to have the opportunity
to volunteer with them. Even if it were just helping walk them, or feed them it
would still be a great experience. So, I am wondering if there is any way that you
can write me back regarding details about any type of volunteering in your
program.

To conclude this letter, I would just like to restate my following points. Overall I
feel that Guide Dogs for the Blind is really making a difference in this society and
that your organization should continue to do what it has been doing. Also I hope
that you are able to write back to me with details about volunteering. Thank you
again for taking the time to read my letter, I really appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Amanda Morse
