LATE NIGHT CRASH CLAIMS TWO LIVES IN CLOQUET


Nurse and Police Officer Killed in Crash
ST. PAUL Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a late night crash on Highway 33 in
Cloquet that claimed the lives of a nurse and police officer.
According to the initial investigation, the vehicle driven by Mark Laine, 49 of Saginaw,
Minn. crossed the center line and collided with the car driven by Fay Dahlman, 54 of Alborn,
Minn. Laine and Dahlman were both killed in the crash.
Laine was a 27 year veteran of the Cloquet Police department. Dahlman was a nurse at the
Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet for the past 12 years. The preliminary
investigation shows Dahlman was wearing a seatbelt and Laine was unbelted at the time of
the crash.
Minnesota State Patrol continues to investigate the crash. Updates will be posted to the State
