The summary of America's Population
According to the article "America's Population", we know that the population in
America are growing, growing order, becoming more diverse, moving West and
South, and to the Suburbs, and becoming more unequal. The rate of American;s
population are continues increase. The biggest reason of population growing is
higher-than-replacement birth rate and immigration. The growth of population not
only cause some benefits that can help economy but also bring some negative effects.
The population are becoming more diverse in the United States due to a long history
of immigration. More immigrants came during the 1990s are more than any decade,
and a big number of them are illegal. Thus, the percentage of foreign-born people
resident raise up on the 1990s and 2000s. They live almost everywhere in America at
that time. However, the percentage of foreign-born people resident are getting lower
now. The substantial racial and ethnic immigration makes America become diverse,
and diversity is continuing increasing because of more immigration and differential
birth. For the positive aspect, immigration brings rich linguistic, culture, and religious
traditions. They also made a mark in science and technology. However, immigration
has cause political and social tensions in the history. In addition, the current wave of
more illegal immigration makes American feel not comfortable. A lot of American
think that immigration take their job and receive their public benefits. Thus, they
advocate to reduce the number of illegal immigration through the law. President
Obama did make some changing of policy of illegal immigration. For America
political, immigration settle is very important. It is the increase that destination states
gain in Congress. Therefore, American treat them more become citizens and voters.
Americans are trending of moving to the South and West, and to metropolitan areas
from rural areas during the twenty-first century. This changes have a big effect of
political. It case to change in the political power of the states. Those date from East
and Midwest lost congressional seats and president electoral votes. Moreover, The
United States trends the aging of the population. However, the increasing rates of the
aging for the United States is much lower because of the much young immigrants are
coming.
Median household income in the United States has lagged behind the overall rate of
growth in the economy, and it make demographic groups different. It also have
important effects for political. If household income is rising, Americans feel happy
with their situation and confidence in elected leader. The poverty rate in the United
States ate much higher than other rich democracies. The poverty only distribute in
racial minorities. It is also important for the political because poverty usually do some
crimes that social don't receive. Thus, more people require government to reduce the
poverty. In addition, the rate of income and wealth inequality in the U.S has been
higher than other rich demoracies. People who have the more gains at the top also
have more annual bonuses. Thus, the rate of wealth inequlity in the U.S, especially

they are even worse in recent recession. This phenomeno affects the distribution of
power in political. Because of the income, occupation, and lifestyle, American middle
class is in trouble, and it has important consequences for American politics.
