3. Assessment Evidence
Each group of students will orally present to the class their group critique of art
forms as presented in a PowerPoint presentation. Each group will utilize the
learned art vocabulary and terms discussed to build their critique.
4. Opening Hook
Everyone close your eyes, and remember the last time you had a meal with your
family at a restaurant; whether you enjoyed it, or not. Think about the food:
what it looked like and how it was presented. Think about the textures, the
flavors; what you enjoyed, what you didnt enjoy, what you wanted more of, and
what you could have had less. How did it make you feel? What youve just done
is though not only about the what, but the why. And the why is critical
thinking.
5. Instructional Strategies/Activities/Student Activities
After viewing a group of art forms presented in a PowerPoint, each group of
students utilizing a handout of terms, vocabulary words, and guidelines will
brainstorm critical qualities of said artwork. The student groups will document
these qualities and present them to the class.

- Handout of terms and vocabulary
- Tangible artwork (Realia)
- PowerPoint presentation of art forms
- Paper and pencil
7. Grouping Patterns
The students will remain in their groups as assigned at the beginning of the
grading period.
8. Ending/Summary/Reflection
Students will use the handout to discuss with neighbor and elaborate on what
they have learned.
