News from Ms.

Bishops
Kindergarten Class
The Final Week of Quarter 3!
The end of Paideias
Third Quarter is upon us!
Its hard to believe that we
are 3/4 done with the school
year, but I have seen so
much growth from each and
every scholar! Thank you for
all of your love, support and
dedication to your scholars
education and our classroom!
This Friday is our 3rd
Quarter Celebration! I have
included more information on
this event on the back of
this newsletter! Its going
to be a lot of fun!
Next week is Spring
Break! There will be no
school Monday-Friday. I will
be sending home an optional
reading sheet with your
scholar on Friday, in case you
would like to practice with
your scholar. Although I will

be relaxing at home during

the week, you can always
contact me during this time
with any questions you may
have! I would love to have a
show and tell after Spring
Break, so scholars can tell
everyone about their week
off of school! :)
After Spring Break, 4th
Quarter will begin! I will be
sending home Report Cards
during this first week, so
please be on the lookout for
this important document! I
will also be sending home
permission slips after Spring
Break, for the field trip on
April 10. The permission slip
and $16 will be due during
the second week of Quarter
4 on April 2. I have had
many parents and family
members interested in chap-

Week 10
eroning the trip, and I am
happy to announce that we
now have enough!
If you
would still like to go to the
farm with us, you can always
follow us up to Queen Creek
in your car and spend the day
with us! I really want every
scholar to go, so if you are
encountering any issues with
sending your scholar on the
trip, please contact me as
soon as possible so we can
figure out a solution!

The Seven Habits Sharpen the Saw!

Habit #7, Sharpen the Saw, focuses on how we can take care of ourselves! We
have all heard that all work and no play can hurt us, so this week we will be talking
about healthy ways we can renew our minds, hearts, bodies, and spirits! Each
scholar brings their own interests and ideas to class, and I cannot wait for them to
share how they will be sharpening their saws over Spring Break!

Coming Up...
Scholars are reviewing phonograms and spelling
words this week as we focus on using those words and
sounds while we read! We are also focusing on
strengthening our handwriting skills as we write!
Scholars finished their first unit on addition
last week. We will be reviewing number bonds and our
addition skills this week, as well as taking timed math
addition tests each day!
We will also be reviewing the many science and
social studies topics that we have learned this last
quarter! From presidents and magnetism to weather
and the continent of Asia, we will be busy as we look
back and build upon these fun units!

Quarterly Celebration is This Friday, from 9am-12pm!

I hope everyone can join us for Paideias 3rd Quarter Celebration this Friday,
March 13, from 9am to 12pm! Instead of holding our celebration in the evening, as we
did in Quarter 1 and 2, classrooms will be open beginning at 9am in order for parents,
guardians, and family members to join their scholar on an adventure around the
school! Each scholar will have a Paideia Passport, which they will use to take you
around the entire school. As you visit each part of the school listed on the passport,
you will check it off until the passport is completed. Your scholar will be your tour
guide, in charge of teaching you about their school and classroom! After your tour,
you are free to take your scholar home early.
Parents/guardians and visitors can come any time between 9:00am and
12:00pm to take the tour with their scholar. If you or a family member is not able to
attend the Quarterly Celebration, no worries! Scholars without visitors will be in
class, where we will be doing academic centers and reviewing material. Friday is also a
half-day for scholars, so they will be dismissed from school at 12:00pm!
I hope to see you there!
