Timeline:

The 6th grade has one 45 minute science period every day after lunch. 6A has the 7 th
period followed by BB which has the last class before dismissal. Only on Tuesdays
does this schedule change with 6B having science class during first period. On half
days classes are only 20 minutes long.

Lesson

Activity:
Students form planets out of modelling clay and sort
them.

-Eclipses
Assessment: in triads, students will simulate the
circumstances of a lunar and solar eclipse.
The space race- context for the moonlanding.
Identify problem to overcome (expense, technology,
experience) and how they were solved.
Use video footage of space race. (speeches, prep,

Apollo 11. Use video footage of landing. Use NASA
website feature. Profiles on Armstrong and Aldrin.
