IT and BPR
IT is technology of sensing, coding,
transmitting, translating and
transforming information.(Whisler)
Hammer and Champy says IT is an
integral part of reengineering as an
enabler and some time may act as
inhibitor if improper

IT and BPR
It permits companies to reengineer
business processes
BPR and IT have recursive relationship
( Davon port and Short)
IT capabilities should support business
processes and business processes
should be in capabilities IT can provide.

IT and BPR
IT can also become inhibitor to
reengineering if IT infrastructure is
inadequate or inflexible
The role of IT in BPR is not only to
automate process.
The application of IT involves
inductive thinking which is ability to
recognize a powerful solution and then
seek what problem it might solve.
