Tutorial 1
A heat engine that rejects waste heat to a sink at 295 K has a thermal
efficiency of 36 percent and a second-law efficiency of 60 percent.
Determine the temperature of the source that supplies heat to this engine.

Tutorial 2
A 25-kg copper block initially at 80C is dropped into an insulated
tank that contains 35 L of water at 25C. Assume the surroundings to
be at 25C, determine the final equilibrium temperature and the work
potential wasted during this process.

Tutorial 3
A 50-kg iron block and a 20-kg copper block, both initially at 80C,
are dropped into a large lake at 15C until thermal equilibrium is
established. Assuming the surroundings to be at 20C, determine
the work potential wasted if the process were executed in a
reversible manner.
