5 Year Technology Plan
Introduction
The need for students to learn 21st century skills becomes more
evident daily. Using technology in the classroom changes learning for
the students as well as changing teaching for the teacher. According
to an article on edutopia.org titled Why Integrate Technology into the
Curriculum?: The Reasons Are Many, technology allows students to be intellectually
challenged while also allowing them to learn real world job related applications. The
same article also pointed out that technology rich classroom allows teaching to be more
meaningful.

Students and teachers need to be challenged to continually grow and be

prepared for the future.

Technology improvements must constantly be made to keep up. Technology is
ever evolving and growing at a fast rate around the world. As educators we are
responsible for preparing students to enter the work force. Technology skills are required
for many jobs. Students need to be able to use technology with a variety of content and
they need to understand how to use technology for more than just gaming and socializing.
Keeping up with technological changes is a must in the classroom.
