CHAPTER III

METHODOLOGY
Study Design
The study will use Analytical Cross-Sectional study design for the analysis of
Pseudomonas aurugiosa present in selected Public and Private Pools in Metro
Manila. Analytical studies measeure the relationships between risk factors and
outcome and also include a comparison group.

Study Setting
The study will be conducted at Metro Manila, while the testing of the subjects will be
conducted at Water Laboratory Inc., Caloocan.

Study Population and Sampling Techniques

Study Population
Collected water samples from selected five (5) public and five (5) private swimming
pools in Metro Manila are the study of the population.

Sampling Technique
The study will use purposive technique for the collection of samples for the analysis
of Pseudomonas aeruginosa present in selected Public and Private Pools in Metro
Manila.

Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria

Researcher will collect data using purposive technique. It is a non-probability

sampling type that focuses on sampling techniques where the units that are
investigated are based on the judgement of researcher articles. This sampling
approach can be very useful for situations where you need to reach a targeted
sample quickly and where sampling for proportionality is not the main concern. The
following are being considered when gathering data: Renowned swimming pools
and its location, researchers budget, time frame, and convenience on
transportation. Those do not suit the said criteria will be excluded.

DATA COLLECTION
Subject Selection
Subjects will be isolated from ten sected pools, five from each Public and Private
pools in Metro Manila. The colony Pseudomonas aeruginosa having abundant
growth on Cetramide agar will bethe subject of the study.
