Statement of

Research Question

The biological progression of disease and the scientific advances in medicine have
drastic effects on societies and the day to day lives of their citizens.
How has cholera impacted society and how its scientific and medical innovation
alleviated those impacts?

What to research?

Why research it?

Which sites or sources can

help me? (use the source analysis section
to guide your research)

What is cholera and what are the causes of This gives help for me to start with the assessment
cholera ; how it began and what microbe
simply by providing a rough background information that
it consist of, etc?
further inform me how it began and what microbe it
consist of, etc?

What are the possible symptoms and

treatments/ preventions to cholera?

This research would signify how dangerous cholera is,

how it would affect the infected in certain aspects;
mentally or physically and what treatments/ preventions
and the scientific and medical innovations have been
identified, which would assist me into a better result.

How did cholera spread within people and

places, to the extend where in both people
globally and nationally are threatened?
In what activities did the people engage to
that might have caused it to spread?

This would help me understand the reasons why the

disease had spread. Similarly to the question above, this
further explains how the disease had developed.
Particularly, whether the activities they engaged in had
contributed to the spreading of disease.

the society and its inhabitants.

on how the disease impacted the society and how it
raised a ruckus within the society.

correctly (including research
tasks)?
March 2nd - March 3rd

Firstly I would complete the research tasks

according to and stated in the action plan.
I would then take notes of the dominant
information.

My goal is to retrieve the right and accurate

information and facts relating to cholera whilst
avoiding inaccuracy of information. This will
help me result a better quality of essay.

March 4th - March 9th

Compiling all the information received into a well

written piece that reflects all the concepts and
lessons learnt during the term.

To complete the essay in a manner that is well

written yet understandable is significant, it is
also important not to forget to relate them to the
concepts learnt.

March 9th - 10th

I would then revise the essay multiple times.

This process would help me avoid carless

mistakes and other unnecessary information that
had been incorporated in the essay.

March 10th- March 12th

Together with the MLA formatted sources I will

post the revised essay into the blog.

If I fail to post the essay as well as the MLA

formatted sources on time, I would fail the
assessment.

March 12th- March 15th

If more time are being spared I will also create a

campaign, this would show a deeper
understanding of cholera.

March 15th- 17th

Lastly, I will make sure numerous times that all

requirements were reached and the blog is
accessible to all.

Although, this stage might be completed in the

shortest time, it is the most dominated part of the
assessment. As without the accessible blog, the
assessment would not be graded.

WHY
What is the creators purpose? Why did
they create this work?
Was it to:

tell their version of events?

Title: The Global Burden of Cholera

Creator: WHO// World Health Organisation

Type of source: Website

Date of creation:

The World Health Organization, also known as WHO, is the directing and coordinating
authority for health within the United Nations system. They keep track of disease
outbreaks whilst finding methods that can possibly cure or prevent the disease. This is a
primary resource since they have incorporated their personal experiences in eradicating
and preventing cholera. While proceeding with various researches, experts working in
World Health Organization have compiled those researches to show people how
threatening cholera can be. Although cholera still happen within countries that contains
filthy, polluted and contaminated water The World Health Organization had committed
effort to reduce the number of infected people. As a reputable source that provides
articles supported with statistics and facts, the WHO have handled numerous cases of
outbreaks and had found ways to decrease/ prevented the disease.
The ideas and information are still relevant considering the fact that doctors and other
experts have been using the same method of treatments to cure/ prevent cholera
outbreaks mainly in reasons that the suggested treatment works effectively. They too as a
big organization updates frequently for any change of information or reference.
I believe The World Health Organization had created this article primarily since they
wanted the society to grasp the dangers of cholera and the dominated significance of
treatments/ preventions. I believe their main motivation of creating this website/ article is
to encourage citizens to prevent drinking filthy, polluted and contaminated water and etc.
As a motto to them - providing clean water and proper sanitation to populations who do
not yet have access to basic services they have handled numerous cases of outbreaks
and had found ways to decrease/ prevented the disease and reduce the number of infected
people.
