What do you know about the person
who created this source?
Think about:
Is this a primary or secondary
resource?
Is the writer an expert?
Is the writer and/or website
reputable? How do you know?
WHEN
Are the ideas and information still
relevant or are these out of date?
WHY
What is the creators purpose? Why did
they create this work?
Was it to:
influence people?
sell something?
tell their version of events?
Date of creation:
The World Health Organization, also known as WHO, is the directing and coordinating
authority for health within the United Nations system. They keep track of disease
outbreaks whilst finding methods that can possibly cure or prevent the disease. This is a
primary resource since they have incorporated their personal experiences in eradicating
and preventing cholera. While proceeding with various researches, experts working in
World Health Organization have compiled those researches to show people how
threatening cholera can be. Although cholera still happen within countries that contains
filthy, polluted and contaminated water The World Health Organization had committed
effort to reduce the number of infected people. As a reputable source that provides
articles supported with statistics and facts, the WHO have handled numerous cases of
outbreaks and had found ways to decrease/ prevented the disease.
The ideas and information are still relevant considering the fact that doctors and other
experts have been using the same method of treatments to cure/ prevent cholera
outbreaks mainly in reasons that the suggested treatment works effectively. They too as a
big organization updates frequently for any change of information or reference.
I believe The World Health Organization had created this article primarily since they
wanted the society to grasp the dangers of cholera and the dominated significance of
treatments/ preventions. I believe their main motivation of creating this website/ article is
to encourage citizens to prevent drinking filthy, polluted and contaminated water and etc.
As a motto to them - providing clean water and proper sanitation to populations who do
not yet have access to basic services they have handled numerous cases of outbreaks
and had found ways to decrease/ prevented the disease and reduce the number of infected
people.
