Transcripts or Closed Captioning
Sub-titles in You Tube Videos

1. If you are having a difficult time hearing a You Tube video, you have three options to
enhance your ability to hear the information.
a. Try to use ear buds or headphones to hear the content of a video better.
b. Turn on the closed captioning function and read the information.
c. View the videos transcripts and read the information.

2. To use the closed captioning function, click on the CC icon on the menu bar located on
the bottom of any You Tube video. If you dont see the CC icon, then, this video does
have closed captioned sub-titles.


**Note: Not all videos in this course are closed-captioned yet**

3. To view the transcripts, click on the More drop down menu directly below any You
Tube video. Then, click on the Transcript option. If you dont see the word transcript in
the menu, then, this video doesnt currently have any transcripts.

4. After you click on the word Transcript, the words should appear below the video. To
read the transcript of the video, you can use the scroll down tool or you can play the
video and follow along.
