Elevator Pitch:

Raise your hand if you regularly to occasionally watch a reality TV show. *Raises Hands*
According to Karyn Riddle and J.J. De Simon at the University of Wisconsin, more than
50% of Americans regularly to occasionally watch reality TV shows, based on a survey of
undergraduates. So why does this matter? Think of how people behave on reality TV
shows. Granted, some act completely normal, but we question the sanity of some. Do we
want people to act this idiotic in our own communities? According to research based on
Banduras social cognitive theory, many people use reality TV show figures for models of
how they should actually behave. So, why do we keep watching? As my capstone, I hope
to explore the psychology and addictiveness behind these Train wrecks of American
culture.
