Dowsing

Dowsing is an old practice that helps people find hiden objects burried in the ground
using a dowsing tool, many times L-shaped rods. As the dowser walk across the
area of land he/she is searching for water, the dower will start shaking or even
pointing down. People believe that this happens because, as the dowser
concentrates, he/she can sense certain frequencies of the energy coming from the
flowing underground steams vibrathing through the rod
However, there are no scientific evidences that this practice actually works. First of
all, there are no instruments that can sense those vibrations. It is hard to believe
that, as there are instruments that can detect radio signals far away from space,
there are no instruments that can signals coming from such a near area.
Moreover, as scientist tried to prove that the dowsing practice actually works, they
have only realized that, under strict scientific conditions it doesnt. The dowsing
practice works only under uncontrolled conditions. We can say that if you dig for
water anywhere, you have the same chances to find it as a dowser has.
Although there are certain doubts about dowsings efficiency, there still are people
who use this practice to find underground objects, from water to dead bodies and
treasures. Dowsers are sometimes paid by even large businesses and official
organizations to detect underground objects.
