Community Service

Plan a service or good that will benefit the school.


Ideas should focus on some sort of service idea or a product that would
enrich the overall positive climate of the school.
o
So, perhaps posters that present a positive quote or message or
maybe some sort of family night they can have in which parents learn
about technology and how to use it.
Your idea needs to be approved before you begin.

You may work with a team or individually.

Let me know what tools/equipment you will need in order to do this project
successfully.

Cadet Teaching Experience


Send an email to the teacher you had thanking them for allowing you to
help them. Tell them something youve learned and something that you
feel you got better at. Make sure to use proper language arts skills.
Create a presentation that has slides including:
o What did you think of the experience?
o What would you change about the experience?
o What kinds of things did you get to do?
o What types of problems did you have?
o How will the experience help you in the future?

Digital Citizenship
Create a presentation, Prezi, or Photostory about what Digital Citizenship
is.
You should include the following:
o What is GOOD digital citizenship?
o What is Cyber-bullying?
o Explain fair bandwidth usage.
o Explain why cheating online is easier, but still should be avoided.
o Discuss social media: Facebook, Twitter, etc., and why it can be both
good and bad.
o How do you respond to someone who posts things about you that
arent true and that are hurtful?

Motivational Photostory
Create a photostory with pictures of at least
15 inspirational leaders.
Include quotes or famous sayings the leader
is known for.
Some of these will be posted throughout the
building.

Scenario Response
Lets play like you just got accused of something you
clearly didnt do at school. You were sent to the office to
talk with the principal. The principal takes your side and
then sends you back to the same class. You barely walk in
the door and sit down before you get in trouble for
something else and get sent to the hallway. How do you
handle this situation?

Lessons
You will create a lesson that you can use while cadet teaching. Here are some
ideas:
Vocabulary games
Reading games: fill in the blank, unscramble the words
Math facts: Simply knowing times tables
Spelling Games
You could maybe use apps on the iPads, but you have to research what
apps work best and are easy to install and work with.
In other words, how will you teach lessons to your students while in cadet
teaching?

Events That Created Us


Create a presentation about 15 events that changed the world. Provide a brief description about how
each event changed the world and at least 1 new leader that emerged (became popular) because of
the event. Here is an examples:
Civil Rights Act of 1965 - Several leaders emerged from this event. Most notably was Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. Through his passive resistance and leadership he led a movement that gained
freedom from oppression.
Notes:
Be sure to include many pictures and quotes of the event or leaders if possible.
Some events: World War I, World War II, 9/11, Pearl Harbor, Kennedy Assassination, Lincoln
Assassination, Stock Market Collapse, Great Depression, Vietnam War, Cold War, Ebola
Outbreaks, Columbus discovers America, Revolutionary War, Civil War, Civil Rights Act of 1964,
Fall of the Roman Empire
