TEXT A

1. , . .
Let me introduce myself. My name is Alexander. My surname is
Orlov. I am 18. I was born in 1993 in Volgograd. It is my home city.
I nished school in 2011. I did well at school. When I was a schoolboy I began to go in for sport. I practised dierent kinds of sport but
I liked basketball best of all.
As I always liked sport I decided to enter the Volgograd Physical
Education Academy. Now I am a rst-year student of the day-time
department. I take part in competitions and sometimes win rst or
second places. My best result is gold medal at the regional competition. I want to become a good basketball-player and I train hard.
My ambition is to get higher education and to work as a coach.
I have a family. We are 3 in the family mother, father and me.
My father is forty-four. He is a volleyball coach. He works at the
Volgograd special Olympic sports school. He was a good volleyball
player when he was a student. He was the city champion twenty
years ago.
My mother is forty-one. She is not an athlete. She is a teacher.
My mother is fond of gymnastics and often watches championships
on TV.
I have some relatives grandparents, an uncle and an aunt, two
cousins. My interests are: music, literature and sports. I am fond of
both pop and classical music. As for my literary preferences I like to
read science ction.

TEXT B
My Daily Programme

8. .
I am very busy on my weekdays. My weekdays do not dier
much one from another. I get up at 7 oclock, and then I do my bed
and go to the bathroom, where I clean my teeth and have a shower.
I am through with it in 15 minutes. Then I have breakfast. I just have
a cup of coee and some sandwiches. While I am having breakfast,
I switch on the radio and listen to the news. After breakfast I dress
and leave the house at ten minutes to eight. As I live not far from
the station I like to walk there in any weather. My train to town
leaves at 8.10. I arrive in town at a quarter to nine. On my way to the
Academy I often meet my group-mates and fellow-students and we
go on together talking shop.
