CTQ Tree
Purpose
Link the measurement to an important outcome

Application
Ensure that data collected is meaningful to projects

Steps
Identify an output that is important to customers (you may start
from SIPOC diagram)
Identify the characteristics of the output that is Critical To Quality
(CTQ)
Define the specific data type that is related to the CTQ
characteristics by brainstorming.
The last row of the CTQ tree is the data needed to be collected.
Is the data necessary?
Is it possible to collect the data?
