Alliance for Excellent Education. (2014). Technology can Close Achievement Gaps, Improve
learning. Retrieved from https://ed.stanford.edu/news/technology-can-close-achievement-gapsand-improve-learning-outcomes
This article outlines the basic idea of introducing technology into schools. It also
highlights some of the arguments for why technology is improving student performance and
transforming the way we see education as a whole. The article goes into depth about how schools
can implement technology into their classrooms effectively, ensuring that the change is being
used and is worth the cost. It encourages districts to look at what they want to do with the
technology before going out, purchasing, and installing the new classroom technologies in their
schools. This article provides a basis for implementation which can be helpful for a latter part of
my paper.
for students to enjoy the content of the class. This article serves as a good starting place for
research into various aspects of classroom technology, but it lacks statistics, making it almost
unusable for my question of whether or not the technology is working. This article will however,
give me ideas from which I can jump off of as I begin to explore other topics.
Commerce Notes. (2014). Use of Tablet PC Technology in the Classroom. Retrieved from
http://commercenotes.com/use-of-tablet-pc-technology-in-classroom/
This article provides a sound argument for technology, specifically tablets, in the
classroom. It discusses how having programs such as the one to one tablet initiatives help
students achieve more in the classroom and are allowing for learning never before seen. It also
goes into the abilities of the tablets and the cost factor of them, allowing for a fuller picture of
what the tablets can do. This article will be particularly helpful to me as I look at specific
technologies available for classroom use.
Dunn, J. (2015). This is the Past, Present, and Future of Education Technology. Retrieved from
http://dailygenius.com/past-present-future-of-education-technology/
This article gives very detailed yet easy to read view of how technology in classrooms
has changed over time. It gives specific dates for the introductions of specific technologies as
well as timelines and other facts for the introduction of such elements. This will be extremely
useful for showing how technology has developed over time. I can also use this to help predict
where technology will go in the future and how that would affect our classrooms as well.

This article is good for looking at the information statistically. It goes into how much
money we are specifically putting into educational technology. It also looks at whether or not this
technology is affective at the job we want it to do: mainly, improve test scores and overall
student performance. This article will be especially helpful as I look into the pros and cons of
increase classroom technologies in our schools and individual classrooms.
Open Colleges (Author). (2012). Components of a 21st Century Classroom. Retrieved 2015, from

This info graphic is really helpful in the statistics side of things. It offers very specific
stats on a wide variety of technologies used in classrooms as well as their effect on both students
and teachers. It also includes a list of sources at the bottom of the picture which I can use to look
up even more additional statistics for my topic. This picture will be extremely helpful to me
because of its relevancy as well as the additional sources it provides.
Pearson Foundation (Producer). (2012). The Four Cs: Making 21st Century Education Happen.
Available from www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghx0vd1oEzM
This video goes over what Pearson finds to be the Four Cs of a 21st century education:
Critical thinking, Creativity, Communication, and Collaboration. The video establishes what
schools and school districts can do to ease the transition into a 21st century style of learning.
They provide example systems that encourage districts to look into what they need to do to
develop their students as learners, as well as what students can do to further their own education.
This is helpful for my paper because it provides me with examples of how to fix school systems
that are not on a 21st century learning era or how to enhance districts that already are.
