ElectoralCollege
AftertheUnitedStateswasfounded,theFramersoftheConstitutionhadto
comeupwithawaytopicktheheadofthestatewhowouldcarryouttheneedsofits
citizens.Somefavoreddirectpopularvote,asysteminwhichpeopledirectlyvote.
Despitethis,othersdidnotthinkvoterswouldhaveenoughsufficientknowledgeto
makeaninformeddecision.Eventually,thedelegatesagreedtocreatetheElectoral
College.However,itisaflawedsystemthatindirectlychooseswhothenextpresident
willbe.TheElectoralCollegeshouldbeabolishedbecauseitdoesntgivecitizens
enoughrepresentation,candidatescantakeadvantageofit,anditcanleadtounfair
situations.
TheElectoralCollegeviolatespoliticalequality.Theflawedsystemtakesaway

showsthatpeoplesvotesarenotequallyrepresented.Moreover,therearemany
situationsinwhichcandidatestakeadvantageofthesystem.
TheElectoralCollegeisanunfairsystemthatcandidatescantakeadvantageof.
Thesystemcreatesthepossibilityforthetheloserofthepopularvotetowinthe

therefore,itisnotfair.Furthermore,theElectoralCollegehascreatedbizarre
circumstances.
Overthecourseofhistory,theElectoralCollegehasleadtounfairsituations.For
example,ifnooneobtainsamajority,theHouseofRepresentativespicksfromthetop

TheElectoralCollegeshouldbeabolishedbecauseitcanmisrepresentcitizens,
