This unit I will be creating a travel plan for a certain client (which is a teacher
in NISC). I will be researching and planning a 7 days and 6-night trip for my
client and letting them take control of what they want.
What is an itinerary? How can excel help with decision-making?
An itinerary is a document with a detail plan what youre going to do on the
trip, event etc. It can help you organize your trip or event easily because
people will just need to follow what do at a certain time or certain day. Excel
can help with decision making because you can show what you plan out and
Excel can help you organize. You can show the timing, day, activity, and
extra information. You can show two different type of itinerary and then let
the your target audience pick which one.
Inquiry Questions:
How can I use functions on spreadsheets?
You can use functions on spreadsheets to have a shortcut to get your answer.
You can take a cell divide, minus, multiply, or even adding it to find the
answer with another cell.
What is the difference between formula and function on a
spreadsheet?
The difference between formula and function is that a formula is what will
help you get the answer. For example, using a formula would be like =K6*K5.
The formula is =Cell A * Cell B. A function is for example is the = equal
sign. It will help you find the overall off an answer.
How are spreadsheets useful in the business world?
Spreadsheets are very helpful in the business world because it keep all their
stock information in a organized way which will help their bosses or other
shared company to be able to read it easily. Its helpful and useful because
you can report stock each month with numbers in rows and column and
separate effectively because you will be able to read it.
How do spreadsheets help with decision-making?
Spreadsheets help with decision-making because once a company does their
monthly stock report; it can show if the stocks are successful or not
successful. They can reflect on their stocks and change what needs to
happen. They can buy less of their stocks and then work with their other
stocks. They can also see if they are successful so they would by more stocks
to improve their company.
How can spreadsheets help with planning?

Spreadsheets can help with planning because you can set the date, time and
activities for each day like an itinerary. Spreadsheet will organized your
information to keep all your schedules and stocks readable for your partners
or participants.
What are the key things to a great vacation?

The key things are to a great vacation is having a roof under your head for
you to sleep under and planning all the things your want to do on the trip.
You would also need a eatable food and a variety for you to choose from, so
you wont eat the same thing for the whole time. I think another key thing to
a great vacation is to research about the places you want to go before youre
actually there. Activities could also be the key thing so you wont get bored
for a trip that you paid money for.
How do you organize the right itinerary for a costumer?
First, you have to know what youre costumer wants to do on the trip. The
question could be like What do you want to discover in (country)? or Do
you like indoor or outdoor activities? You need to know what they want to do
in order to have an itinerary they would enjoy. You have to find out what food
they would like to eat and what type of hotel they like to stay in. I also would
want to know what time you wake up and what time would you like to go
back to hotel to sleep. Its also possible to know if they person would like to
have some days just relaxing in the hotel, which will makes changes to the
itinerary or to have more activities plan for the person. After knowing what
your costumer would like to do, the times of their waking up and sleeping
time and activities you would like to do you can start planning. You also need
to be aware of the reviews of the places you would be going so you know
where to go and where not to.
What can help me get the best results from my costumer?
You need to listen to your costumer to know what they want. When you
follow the information given from your costumer it will help your get the best
results as possible. Your interview must have questions that will create a
great holiday in your costumer perspective. Following the information given
will guide your way to the results you need. If the costumer doesnt like what
they have then ask them more question or ask whats wrong about the ideas.
Change the things they dont like and keep what they like.

Using the rows/column to calculate the total did the total price for the whole trip.
The changes I made through this final product was that I didnt include
one of the activities that my client picked. The further investigate I made
into that activity it was unavailable. (Snowrafting and Toboggan at Vierlli).
My Thinglink was planned like how I wanted too. I had a photo and also
various types of links that my client picked out. It was planned out the
way I like it. I picked a photo that could have different links put on to it
and it was related to my topic. Im very happy with my thinglink.
My spreadsheet turned out pretty well. I felt very surprise that it was very
organized and readable for myself. I like the way I had this in slots and in
different colorful to help deficient what was what.
Criterion D: Evaluating the Solution

I will be asking my client feedback by sending him questions for him to
answer. The questions will be based on my overall performance through
this travel agent position and the design specifications.

Maybe adding pictures from the websites mentioned to make it even more
interesting to read

It was really good already but maybe to improve, you could have a propose a
second meeting to discuss with me what you found and if those propositions
were fitting my expectations... but i dont want to be peaky because your doc
is so good already!
Maybe propositions about the scenic architecture road trip I told you about...
but I know... this is something VERY VERY specific and not really a tourist
attraction... no worries

Spreadsheet:
Its very colorful, and it very detailed. Ive added all the cost. I should use
less dull colors and use more bright colors to add life to your spreadsheet.
There are a lot of words and the colors are intense. It looks professional but
the colors are kind of annoying. The colors arent right and wrong.
Thinglink:
You shouldnt have the point the same color as the background. The points
should be scatter around so it looks more pleasant. The picture is fine and it
looks organized. The bullet point isnt eye catching. You chose a really nice
picture. Its look nice because the quality of the photo is good and it related
to the theme.

For myself this unit was challenging. I have been in the shoes of a travel
agent and its really hard to be one. You have to very organize with your
information so you can give your customer what he/she wants. A lot of the
websites I searched on werent right or it was in Norwegian. It was difficult to
find everything I needed for my customers (which is Mr.Julien) because I
didnt understand norwegian My budget was 7,000 and it was also difficult to
use for 4 adults and 2 kids. Later on, Mr.Julien changed the budget to 89,000, which made this trip have more people join in the activities. So the
budget is 9,000 with extra money for him to shop and eat and also have all
the activities done with the amount of people.
What I really would have like to improve on was to be more specific with my
information. Like making each of the activities, restaurant, car, and house
detail have more information with reviews on each topic. I would also like to
improve on getting the process done in a effective time so I could have my
customer be more relax so I didnt need to keep on telling them to check and
give me feedback as quick as possible.
Next time I need to set myself deadlines and be strict with myself so I can
improve on time management so I can complete on writing more. Im not
proud of my work one thing; it was the Scenic Road trip that I was trying to
find but didnt look in deeper and ask for help and my customer seem
disappointed in one the answer. I didnt meet that design specification, which
isnt good. I would also like to improve on using more pictures to show the
website etc., thats what my client recommended so it should be also an
improvement I should work on next time. I shouldnt have also done another
meeting day; due to my lack of time management I couldnt do it. So that is
a BIG issue I need to sort out for my further Units.
If I have meet all of these improvements, my product and overall
performance would have been like a standardize travel agent. Information
will be shown in an organized and effective way. Meetings would have been
planned out like a real travel agency. Time management wouldnt be a
problem and the information would have been done fast.
I think I did really well on organizing my information in the right way so its
readable. I had my information in the right topic so you know what you have
to look out for. I feel that my customer was glad about my organizing
because he wanted to give me good feedback because I gave effort on the
information I provided for him. My product has helped my client because he
would actually use this for a real trip to Norway in 2016 for the summer and
this could help him plan out his trip well.
