Reflection:
I interviewed with a fifth grade female during reading time for the entire class. In my
interview I asked questions relating to reading, writing, and teaching methods. I was able to find
that she enjoyed using the acronym RUNNERS when reading for class and was interested in
reading about fairytales and chapter books. She reads on her own time and she chose science as
her favorite subject. This interested me because I wonder if she would like to read more chapter
books involving science rather than fairytales. This could be something that would also interest
more students. Although she liked using the method of RUNNERS she does not like answering
questions about readings. This was a short interview and I wish she had wanted to go more in
depth in the conversation, but something funny to take was, she didnt like writing because it
hurts her hand.
