Goal: For Jack to increase his ability to read for sustained periods of time Achievement: Jack has extended the time he can read however his recall of facts within the text and the progression of the text indicate he floats in and aut of full concentration Other achievements ENGLISH 1. Jack has made significant gains in his knowledge of spelling generalisations and is using this knowledge when he reads and writes. MATHEMATICS 2. Jack is working beyond the expected level in Mathematics and has been very keen to challenge | __himsetf in problem solving activities. LEARNING BEHAVIOURS 3. Jack gets along well with others and can work effectively with all students in our class. 4, Jack made the transition from Investigation Time to Educational Research Projects (ERPs) this semester, He successfully used his interest in comedy to demonstrate his understanding of the ‘Science learning intentions in Term Two. | Priorities for future learning 1. Jack is reliant on an adult to ensure he remains on task and focussed. He requires direction to make good learning choices and now needs to focus on doing this more independently. 2. Jack has demonstrated persistence with reading during the first half of the year and now needs to begin using CAFE strategies taught within the classroom to ensure he is maintaining his understanding of the text and tracking its development. In our upcoming SPT Interview we will set Learning Goals related to these priorities for future Jearning and will identify ways in which attainment of these goals can be supported by both School and at home, } | Attendance | Jack was absent for 8 days this semester to 18th June. Jack can throw accurately both overarm and underarm. Priorities for future learning 1. Jack needs to work on his striking skills. By keeping his head down it will enable him to make better contact with the ball as his shoulders will not pull upwards. — eae ee seep yee Jack’s achievements in relation to his goals ] Goal: For Jack to independently stay on task, working this way for periods of 15 minutes after | having independently made @ choice about a suitable work space. "Achievement: Jaok has become more conscious of and more self directed when choosing a working space. This careful attention has allowed him to maintain focus for periods exceeding his goal of 15 minutes. Goal: For Jack to utilise CAFE reading strategies to ensure he maintains understanding of the text. Achievement: Jack has made a conscious effort to attempt to use CAFE reading strategies in his personal reading. He has had success using the strategy of ‘back up and reread’ when he is unsure. He would benefit from continuing to develop his confidence in using other strategies. | Other achievements | ENGLISH 1, Jack has made significant gains in his knowledge of spelling generalisations and is using this knowledge when he reads and writes. Priorities for future learning 1, Jack needs to continue to build his abilty to apply his mathematical understandings to real life problems involving Space and Measurement, 2. Jaci writes with careless regard for punctuation and spelling. More attention to this will improve his ability to communicate his message more clearry.
